On the flip side, most artists capable of pulling 30,000 people have options\u2014and Lubbock usually isn\u2019t at the top of the list. If you\u2019re a major touring act, you\u2019re looking at Dallas, Houston, maybe Austin. Bigger markets, bigger infrastructure, easier routing. Lubbock sits a little too far off that main line, which makes it a tougher sell, even if the fans are here.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re still only scratching the surface of artists who can consistently fill the United Supermarkets Arena\u2014acts like Red Hot Chili Peppers or Guns N’ Roses, along with some strong country tours. Jumping from that level to a full-on stadium show at Jones is a completely different animal.<\/p>\n
So what are the chances? Not zero\u2014but not something you can count on either.<\/p>\n
The formula is clear: it takes a rare artist, a unique situation, or a stacked lineup to make it happen. When it does, it feels like an event\u2014because it is.<\/p>\n
