The Lubbock VA Clinic hosted its fourth annual Welcome Home Veterans event on April 25, 2026 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, welcoming Veterans and their families for a day of appreciation, connection and community.<\/p>\n
The free event was open to all Veterans, regardless of enrollment in VA health care, and featured complimentary food provided by United Supermarkets, along with door prizes and opportunities for Veterans and their families to connect with local resources and VA services.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt’s always an honor to host this event to \u2018welcome home\u2019 our hometown heroes and thank them for their service,\u201d said Dr. Rodney S. Gonzalez, Director of the Amarillo VA Health Care System (AVAHCS).<\/p>\n
The annual Welcome Home Veterans event aims to recognize the sacrifices of Veterans while strengthening relationships between VA and the community it serves.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year is especially meaningful as the Lubbock VA Clinic celebrates its fifth anniversary in the new facility on June 1,\u201d said Laura Maul, Assistant Director of AVAHCS. \u201cWe\u2019re also marking 250 years of America on July 4, and there\u2019s no better way to celebrate than with our Veterans.\u201d<\/p>\n
