\t\t\t\t\t\t\tPlano officials unanimously approved a plan for 14.1 acres of residential development along Los Rios Boulevard.<\/p>\n
The area was rezoned from estate development to planned development single-family residential homes at a City Council meeting April 27.<\/p>\n

The approved rezoned property is located north of Meadows Baptist Church<\/a> and west of Plano East Senior High School<\/a>.<\/p>\n The 50 single-family homes on this property will have 7,000-square-foot lot sizes, or 9,000-square-foot lot sizes at the ends of a block with a three-car garage, according to city documents. There will also be a 20-foot-wide landscape edge on the western boundary of the property with an 8-foot metal fence and one tree every 30 feet.<\/p>\n Multiple residents and council members showed support for the zoning change at the meeting, noting the development\u2019s proximity to the high school and proportional lot sizes.<\/p>\n \u201cThe support that the neighbors have for this, we quite frankly don\u2019t see that a lot, so it\u2019s refreshing,\u201d Mayor John Muns said.<\/p>\n The background<\/p>\n The 14.1-acre development was first tabled by the Planning and Zoning Commission in November 2025 to provide more time to speak with the developer, property owner and nearby residents, Plano Director of Planning Christina Day said.
