CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 Goodwill South Texas is preparing for a signature evening event that blends fashion, sustainability, and community impact, featuring student designers from across the Rio Grande Valley and Coastal Bend.<\/p>\n
The event, called\u00a0Work the Runway, will highlight high school and college designers who create original fashion pieces using upcycled Goodwill materials as part of a scholarship-driven competition focused on sustainability and innovation.<\/p>\n
The event takes place on Thursday, May 7, at 5:30 p.m., with a plated dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a runway show from 6:30-8:30 p.m.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Organizers said an after-party will run until 10 p.m. at McAllen Convention Center, located at 700 Convention Center Blvd.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The showcase\u00a0is designed\u00a0to elevate young talent while promoting creative reuse of materials and environmental awareness through fashion.<\/p>\n
Proceeds from the event will support Goodwill South Texas programs, including free job training, career services, and workforce development initiatives across the region.<\/p>\n
