That could be a day with a heightened exposure risk.

<img decoding="async" src="https://www.newsbeep.com/us-tx/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/1489040042.jpg" loading="lazy" alt="An immigrant mother and child from Venezuela walk through a dust storm while waiting to be processed for asylum claims in El Paso, Texas, in May 2023. El Paso, for example, is located in the Chihuahuan Desert, which features flat and dry valleys and White Sands National Park.

The stronger the storm, the more dust may be picked up.

“Extreme wind and dust events may disturb soils in ways that release larger amounts of the fungus into the air,” said Gills.

Your support helps us to tell the story From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The…

[12
101011,38629,69100,138,140,139,5660,101013,2327,23003,18307,101015,101010,1468,7913,287,101014,101012,27,3416
post-271595","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-el-paso","tag-army-soldier","tag-color-image","tag-dust-storm","tag-el-paso","tag-el-paso-headlines","tag-el-paso-news","tag-el-paso-texas","tag-emigration-and-immigration","tag-environment","tag-horizontal","tag-immigrant","tag-international-border-barrier","tag-makeshift","tag-mexico","tag-photography","tag-politics","tag-politics-and-government","tag-razor-wire","tag-texas","tag-usa
["GET
