Vietnam-based global tech services provider FPT and the semiconductor giant Intel are partnering to offer an end-to-end AI-driven factory optimization solution. Powered by AI, simulation, and digital manufacturing technologies, the collaboration aims to reduce bottlenecks, speed decision-making, and improve downtime recovery, “empowering the transition towards AI-driven, autonomous operations.”

FPT maintains its U.S. headquarters in Richardson, north of Dallas.

The company noted that as manufacturers encounter increasingly complex, data-intensive operations, many still struggle with unexpected disruptions, inefficient production, and fully utilizing real-time data. The new initiative targets these challenges by empowering “closed-loop factory intelligence”—where simulation, real-time data, and AI continuously optimize performance, FTP said.

FPT Americas CEO Hoan Nguyen said manufacturing has reached a turning point “where AI is not just augmenting operations but actively orchestrating them.”

“At FPT, we see a growing demand for smarter, more adaptive manufacturing systems that can respond to real-time conditions,” Nguyen, who is also a senior EVP at FPT Software, added in a statement. “By combining Intel’s expertise with our AI-first solutions and global delivery capability, we’re helping manufacturers achieve new levels of operational agility and efficiency.”

Key benefits of the collaboration

The partnership combines Intel’s high-speed simulation and digital twin technology with FPT’s data platforms and system integration expertise. Intel Automated Factory Solutions (AFS)—including Intel Factory Pathfinder and Intel Factory Recon—provide manufacturers with a dynamic, end-to-end view of factory operations, the company said.

FPT brings complementary capabilities with its digital manufacturing platforms, FleziOps (MOM+), FleziQMS (Quality Management Suite), and FleziUDP (Unified Data Platform), which combine data across MES, ERP, and shop-floor systems to create a unified operational data layer.

The FTP-Intel foundation enables “seamless deployment” of Intel’s AI-driven optimization tools in live production environments, the companies said.

From bottleneck resolutions to real-time digital twins

According to FTP and Intel, the solution allows manufacturers to run thousands of AI-driven simulations to identify optimal production strategies; detect and resolve bottlenecks before they impact production; improve scheduling and the flow of materials on complex production lines; and visualize and analyze factory operations through real-time digital twins

Paul Schneider, principal engineer and director at Intel Corporation, said, “Manufacturing is one of the most complex environments in the world, and optimizing it requires more than isolated tools; it requires a connected, intelligent system. By collaborating with FPT, we’re able to extend the reach of Intel’s factory optimization technologies and help manufacturers operationalize AI-driven insights at scale.”

Around the world and in North Texas

FPT has deployed digital transformation projects to more than 150 manufacturing companies to convert production lines into smart factories with improved supply chain resilience. This expertise is backed by end-to-end AI-enabled solutions provided by an AI-augmented workforce of over 25,000 globally certified engineers.

Through its global delivery model across more than 30 countries and territories, FPT said it helps companies scale better manufacturing outcomes across their operations worldwide, improving time to value and cost efficiency.

In late 2023, FTP launched FPT Automotive in Frisco to drive the advancement of software-defined vehicles, including in-vehicle infotainment, electronic control units, functional safety, security, automotive UI/UX design, wireless connectivity, and digital engineering.

“The old human-in-the-loop rules really don’t work as well when you’re looking at ubiquitous, automated AI agents that are acting 24/7 as digital workers.” Danny Tobey, M.D., J.D. Chair, AI and Data Analytics DLA Piper …speaking at Convergence AI Dallas on March 31 We’re moving “from an era of chatbot AI, where there is always a human at the receiving end of recommendations, to agentic and physical AI,” a world, Danny Tobey said, where AI “takes actions and makes decisions on behalf of humans” and “does so in ways that don’t always stop for human intervention, permission and understanding.” Companies…
