A 45-year-old man who called police after fatally shooting a man in a road rage incident. A Collin County Grand Jury found there was not enough evidence to prosecute<\/p>\n
FRISCO, Texas \u2014 A Collin County Grand Jury chose not to prosecute the man involved in a deadly road rage shooting in Frisco.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On October 9, Jason Austin Bartick of Celina was charged with fatally shooting another driver in the parking lot of Frisco High School.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Bartick’s arrest affidavit stated that Frisco police officers responded to the school at 6401 Parkwood Boulevard after a 911 caller, identified as \u00a0Bartick, reported being involved in a road rage incident with another driver along the highway. Bartick told dispatchers he pulled into the school\u2019s parking lot and that the other driver followed him.\u00a0<\/p>\n
When officers arrived, they found the victim, 34-year-old Robert Taylor of Plano, lying face down in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to the affidavit, Bartick told police that Taylor had been tailgating him, so Bartick “brake checked” Taylor, then pulled into the Frisco High parking lot. Bartick said Taylor approached his vehicle, yelling, and that Taylor punched him in the face through his driver\u2019s side window. Bartick told officers he then shot the man at least twice with his pistol, the affidavit read.<\/p>\n
Detectives wrote in the affidavit that witness statements and the initial 911 call were consistent with Bartick\u2019s account of the events leading up to the shooting.<\/p>\n
Bartick was arrested and charged with murder, a first-degree felony.
