Warm, sunny weather helped draw hundreds of families to Sewell Elementary for the annual PTA Spring Fling on Friday, April 24.<\/p>\n
Held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the school\u2019s side lot, the event offered a mix of food, games and family-friendly activities. Attendees purchased meals from local food trucks including Luiege Pizza, Smok\u2019d TX BBQ, La TacoTrona and DawgConelicious.<\/p>\n
Students and families took part in a variety of activities, including carnival-style games, face painting, airbrush tattoos, inflatables and a rock climbing wall. Noah\u2019s Ark Petting Farm made its first appearance at the event this year, while the city of Sachse contributed yard games through its T.R.A.I.N. program.<\/p>\n
Music for the evening was provided by Sewell\u2019s own fifth-grade DJs, adding to the festive atmosphere.<\/p>\n
With support from Sachse High School students in FTI, Beta Club and the football program, as well as Hudson Middle School student council members and Sewell parents, more than 80 volunteers helped make the event possible.<\/p>\n
According to PTA President Holly George, crowd favorites included Bounce N More\u2019s rock climbing wall and the Noah\u2019s Ark petting zoo.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe event was a huge success,\u201d George said. \u201cWe are thankful for our wonderful Sewell PTA board that puts these events on and our community volunteers who ensure we can do them.\u201d<\/p>\n
