The home of a longtime Texas Land and Cattle restaurant at a prominent intersection in Uptown Dallas has been bulldozed.<\/p>\n

The building at 3130 Lemmon Avenue, flanking Cole Avenue, was demolished in late April 2026.\u00a0The structure was flattened and debris was hauled away within a few days. In a snapshot of the intersection on April 30, 2026, passersby could see through the empty lot to the QuikTrip and West Village behind it.<\/p>\n

Texas Land and Cattle served steaks at this Uptown Dallas intersection for more than 20 years.<\/p>\n

Then, the building became Hot Joy<\/a>, an Asian fusion restaurant open for just a few months in 2017. The Hot Joy sign is still up today, despite its short run. The restaurant “didn’t connect” with Dallas diners, Eater reported nearly a decade ago.<\/p>\n

Hot Joy’s point of view seemed to plague it from the start. “Explaining the food at Hot Joy is like taking a\u00a0rollercoaster ride without a harness,” The Dallas Morning News wrote at the opening. The menu included influences from China, Texas, Vietnam, Japan, Louisiana, Thailand, Mexico, Malaysia “and anything else that lights up our brain,” the owner said.<\/p>\n

The building at Lemmon and Cole sat vacant for years. Broker Thomas Glendenning said the owners scraped\u00a0the former restaurant as they consider its future.<\/p>\n

“The site was deteriorating,” said Glendenning, a partner at Texas real estate firm Shop Companies. The property is now a “blank slate,” he said, ready to be redeveloped. It takes up 46,000 square feet in total.<\/p>\n

According to Dallas County Appraisal District, the parcel of land is owned by\u00a0Lemmon & Cole partners Limited Partnership. It isn’t clear what could be built here yet<\/a>.
