Witnesses say they came outside to a man screaming he had been shot multiple times.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">A door dash delivery driver was shot. Video shows him on a stretcher on Birch Bend in Mesquite.<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/p-peyton-door-dash-driver-shot-9p_00.00.08.52.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-v-0dea8073=\"\"\/>   Witnesses describe shooting chaos <\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"KDFW\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Local perspective:<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Robert McNair came outside just after midnight on Sunday, unsure who was armed and what happened.<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">&#8220;I saw someone leaning on their car yelling at him, \u2018Are you alright?\u2019 and he said, &#8216;I&#8217;ve been shot five times,'&#8221; said McNair. &#8220;He was saying, \u2018I am a door dash driver. I\u2019m a door dash driver.\u2019 The house he was in front of they were saying, \u2018Hey, we were waiting on our doordash.\u2019&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Mesquite police remain quiet on this investigation.\u00a0Only confirming a food delivery driver was shot early Sunday morning and a suspect took off before officers arrived.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">FOX 4 asked if the suspect lived on the same street, if this was an attempted robbery, or if an argument took place, but the department only replied saying the detectives are still working on what unfolded.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/p-peyton-door-dash-driver-shot-9p_00.00.18.52.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-v-0dea8073=\"\"\/>  Unanswered questions linger <\/p>\n<p original-article-post=\"\" origination_station=\"KDFW\" data-v-ec26887a=\"\" data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">Dig deeper:<\/p>\n<p data-v-6fc2855c=\"\">A nearby camera captured the victim&#8217;s vehicle being towed away; It now remains in evidence.
