EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 Post Malone and Jelly Roll will no longer be taking the stage at El Paso’s Sun Bowl later this month after Post Malone announced the cancellation of his scheduled tour stop in the city, according to Post Malone and Ticketmaster.<\/p>\n
The announcement was made via Post Malone’s Instagram story, where the artist, whose real name is Austin Post, explained that the decision was tied to delays in completing new music he had promised fans.<\/p>\n
\u201cLooking at the upcoming schedule what we were trying to do, and what\u2019s possible, isn\u2019t really lining up,\u201d Post wrote. \u201cI promised y\u2019all new music, and I don\u2019t have the time to finish it before tour starts. We ain\u2019t ready for tour just yet, so I\u2019m making the decision to push the tour back about 3 weeks to get this music done. That being said, I\u2019m so sorry to the folks who were planning on coming to the few canceled shows. I was looking forward to going nuts with y\u2019all.” <\/p>\n
The El Paso date is among a handful of shows affected as the tour not only canceled some stops but will be pushed back about three weeks. <\/p>\n
While most dates are expected to be rescheduled, some\u2014including the El Paso stop\u2014have been canceled outright, though specific reasons for individual cancellations were not detailed.<\/p>\n
According to the Ticketmaster website, fans who have already purchased tickets will be issued a full refund to the original method of payment used. <\/p>\n
“You don’t need to do a thing. We’ll issue a refund to the original method of payment used at the time of purchase, as soon as funds are received from the event organizer. It should appear on your account within 14-21 days,” Ticketmaster said on its website. <\/p>\n
The previously scheduled stop in El Paso was part of Post Malone’s \u201cBig Ass Stadium Tour” featuring Jelly Roll and Carter Faith, which was originally set to kick off in mid-May and span cities across North America. <\/p>\n
El Paso had been anticipated as a high-energy stop, drawing fans from across West Texas and southern New Mexico.<\/p>\n
