Thankfully it was all put to bed shortly after as he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloggingtheboys.com\/dallas-cowboys-free-agency\/204227\/george-pickens-franchise-tag-signed\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">officially<\/a> signed his franchise tag.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">That was news pertaining to a Cowboys veteran though and Friday is for the newbies. Rookie minicamp begins today and it will offer the first looks of the team\u2019s new draft picks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Shortly before it was set to begin it was reported by ESPN that six of the team\u2019s seven draft picks are officially signed to their rookie contracts. Malachi Lawrence is the only outlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">For those unaware, it was once upon a time a difficult thing for NFL teams to get their rookie contracts taken care of. Everything changed in 2011 when the CBA (the one established at that point in time) introduced the rookie wage scale.
