PLANO, Texas – A three-vehicle crash in Plano involving an oil tanker has led to environmental crews working to stop spillage into White Rock Creek.<\/p>\n
What we know<\/p>\n
The crash happened on Friday afternoon near the intersection of Spring Creek Parkway and Windhaven Parkway, on the western side of the city.<\/p>\n
The City of Plano says preliminary reports indicated a driver of a white Mazda ran a red light and was struck on the passenger side by an oil tanker.<\/p>\n
The impact of the crash pushed the Mazda into a black sedan, causing significant damage. The oil tanker overturned after the crash, blocking northbound traffic.<\/p>\n
The driver of the oil tanker was trapped and extracted from the truck by Plano Fire-Rescue. All three drivers were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
People were urged to avoid the area while a hazmat crew worked to clean up the crude oil on the roadway and prevent it from going down the storm drain that leads to White Rock Creek.<\/p>\n
