New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara in trade talks with Cowboys, Packers, and Browns

As for the Dallas Cowboys? Jerry Jones’ franchise has Javonte Williams penciled in as the starter at running back. But behind him? They have Malik Davis, Jaydon Blue, and Phil Mafah.Bringing in Alvin Kamara could make a lot of sense. He has been a dual threat, recording 7,000-plus rushing yards, 4,900-plus receiving yards, and 86 touchdowns in 126 games.Heavy Sports’ Evan Massey suggests that Alvin Kamara has hinted at the possibility of retirement if the New Orleans Saints traded him away. But Kamara could be an interesting veteran option for the Dallas Cowboys. He could form a solid one-two punch alongside Javonte Williams in the backfield. As for the Green Bay Packers? Heavy Sports’ Evan Massey suggests the Green Bay Packers could consider Alvin Kamara as an elite option for a backup role behind Josh Jacobs. They could consider trading for Alvin Kamara. The asking price may not be too high at this stage of his career. The 30-year-old’s 2026 salary was reduced from $18 million to $10 million by the New Orleans Saints using the CBA’s 50% rule. Also, the Saints signed Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. to a four-year, $52 million contract, which averages $13 million per year.

Washington Commanders, Indianapolis Colts, and Cincinnati Bengals tied to Alvin Kamara

Now, let’s eliminate the listed trade competitors for Alvin Kamara: Washington Commanders? They drafted Kaytron Allen, they signed Rachaad White, and Jerome Ford. So, they don’t need any running back as such.Indianapolis Colts? Now, they could be competition for the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers. Because Colts Wire’s Paul Bretl reports that the Indianapolis Colts need a running back. They have Jonathan Taylor. But he needs backup because of injury concerns. They have DJ Giddens and Seth McGowan competing for a backup role. But the duo has limited NFL experience. Signing a veteran could bring stability in pass protection and on special teams. As for the Cincinnati Bengals? According to The Sporting News’ Billy Heyen, talented running backs Jamal Haynes and Kentrel Bullock have been signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as undrafted free agents.

Saints running back linked to Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns

As for the Kansas City Chiefs? They signed a Super Bowl-winning running back, Kenneth Walker III, and they drafted a Nebraska Cornhuskers running back in the fifth round as their 161st overall pick, Emmett Johnson. As for the Cleveland Browns? According to 247Sports’ Jack Duffin, the Cleveland Browns need a running back, and they have not added anyone so far. This could mean they heavily depend on 23-year-old Raheim Sanders for 2026. Though his stats do not signify much confidence [58 snaps and 27 carries].Sports Illustrated’s Brian Schaible links Alvin Kamara to the Cleveland Browns. Quinshon Judkins is the centerpiece. Dylan Sampson showed flashes and had a couple of receiving touchdowns. But he’s still adapting to the role. That’s where New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara comes into the picture. He gives the quarterback, whether Shedeur Sanders or Deshaun Watson, an outlet where there is nothing. “He can turn short throws into real gains and keep drives alive,” said Sports Illustrated’s Brian Schaible. That leaves us with, who would sign Alvin Kamara for his 2026 chapter? Or would he retire?
