HOUSTON, Texas \u2013 Firefighters with the Houston Fire Department worked through the morning to put out a large fire at an abandoned apartment building in northwest Houston Thursday morning. <\/p>\n
HFD responded to the fire at the abandoned apartment building, formerly known as the Front Royale Apartments, located in the 10110 block of Westview just before 4 a.m. <\/p>\n
According to the fire chief, the department is called to the abandoned building a lot due to homeless people hanging out inside. <\/p>\n
It\u2019s not clear how the fire started, but fire officials said part of the building collapsed. <\/p>\n
The building is supposed to be demolished, but it\u2019s not clear when the city will begin that process. <\/p>\n
