Save money and energy.<\/p>\n


\nEven though natural gas is 3.5 times more affordable than electricity, increased usage during periods of extreme cold will lead to higher bills. When the temperature plunges, consider these conservation tips to save energy where safe to do so.
\nAtmos Energy offers rebates for high-efficiency natural gas appliances, energy-saving devices, and weatherization upgrades for customers in Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, and parts of Texas. Visit www.atmosenergy.com\/rebates for details. <\/p>\n

Follow winter safety tips.<\/p>\n


\nInspect your natural gas piping and appliances. In most states, except Kansas, you are responsible for any natural gas piping on your property from our gas meter to your house or business. As the owner of your home\u2019s gas piping and appliances, it is your responsibility to schedule regular inspections and maintenance. Doing so helps prevent hazards and ensures optimal performance.
\nTo help keep your home safe and to improve energy efficiency, always operate and maintain your natural gas appliances according to the manufacturers\u2019 instructions.
\nMake sure smoke detectors and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms are in working condition.
\nMake sure snow and ice from your roof does not land on or bury your gas meter. <\/p>\n
