The Spurs are back on the floor tonight at Frost Bank Center to open their second-round series against the Timberwolves, riding plenty of momentum after a strong first-round showing. San Antonio handled the Trail Blazers in 5 games, closing things out with a convincing 114-95 win at home. Victor Wembanyama looked every bit like the generational star he’s billed to be, while Stephon Castle, De’Aaron Fox, and Dylan Harper all stepped up with big performances throughout the series. Now, with a trip to the Western Conference Finals on the line, the stakes only get higher.

Minnesota arrives after a hard-fought 6-game series win over Denver, but not without taking some major hits along the way. Donte DiVincenzo is out for the remainder of the playoffs with a torn Achilles, and superstar guard Anthony Edwards is dealing with a hyperextended knee and bone bruise, leaving his status for tonight very much in doubt. Even so, the Timberwolves have found contributions from unexpected places, including some massive games from Ayo Dosunmu earlier in the series, though he missed Game 6 himself with calf soreness. Still, a healthy Spurs team at home enters as a 13.5-point favorite tonight, and with the crowd behind them, San Antonio has a prime opportunity to set the tone early in this series.
