{"id":278582,"date":"2026-05-04T20:07:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-04T20:07:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/278582\/"},"modified":"2026-05-04T20:07:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-04T20:07:12","slug":"texas-republic-bank-celebrates-15-years-of-local-banking","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/278582\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas Republic Bank celebrates 15 years of local banking"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/texasrepublicbank.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Texas Republic Bank<\/a> is celebrating 15 years of community banking in Collin County.<\/p>\n<p>The local bank has origins dating back to 1891, and it was acquired by a team of investors to become Texas Republic Bank in April 2011.<\/p>\n<p>CEO David Baty said being a true community bank is defined by local ownership, local management and local decisions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you have that, you have the true community bank,\u201d Baty said. \u201cIf you don&#8217;t have those ingredients, it doesn&#8217;t matter what your name is, you&#8217;re not a true community bank.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What they offer<\/p>\n<p>The bank offers full-service banking products such as loans, deposits, and IRA accounts, as well as physical safety deposit boxes at all of its branches.<\/p>\n<p>Loans are the top requested service, with real estate encompassing 80% of the bank&#8217;s loan portfolio, Baty said. They provide both residential and commercial real estate loans, which include home mortgages, home construction loans, lot development loans and funding to acquire retail strip centers.<\/p>\n<p>For businesses that may not need to borrow money but require daily banking, Texas Republic Bank offers tailored deposit services. A major advantage they offer is waiving routine holds on large deposits, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Zooming out<\/p>\n<p>The investor group, when looking for a bank, decided to go to a small town in West Texas, buy a bank there and bring it to Frisco, which was seeing substantial growth, Baty said.<\/p>\n<p>Since the 2011 acquisition, Texas Republic Bank has grown organically from 12 employees across two locations to a staff of 80.<\/p>\n<p>It now operates branches in Frisco, Richardson, Celina, Pilot Point and Melissa, with a new location planned for Anna. It\u2019s headquartered in Frisco.<\/p>\n<p>The bank&#8217;s expansion strategy is distinct, rather than targeting hot real estate markets, leadership hires established local bankers and builds branches around them, Baty said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to put a location with a banker who knows that market or has been working in that market or has following in that market,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>2595 Preston Road, Ste. 100, Frisco690 W.
