AUSTIN, Texas \u2014 Austin\u2019s longest-running film festival is back, focusing on what matters most: powerful stories and community connection.<\/p>\n
The All Genders, Lifestyles, and Identities Film Festival (aGLIFF) returns this weekend with its annual PRISM 38 LGBTQ+ Film Festival<\/a>, running October 16\u201319 at Galaxy Theaters in Austin.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s been a difficult season for the organization,\u201d said aGLIFF Board President and Executive Director Todd Hogan. <\/p>\n With shifting schedules, uncertain funding, and limited bandwidth, this year\u2019s festival will look very different from what you\u2019ve come to expect. Still, the board and I agreed that we had to find a way to bring the community together because now, more than ever, queer stories matter.<\/p>\n ALSO | Austin mayor considering alternatives after Gov. Abbott’s order on crosswalks, street art<\/a><\/p>\n This year\u2019s event will be a \u201cno-frills\u201d festival, centered on films and conversation instead of parties and swag. <\/p>\n Hogan says the goal is to return to the festival\u2019s roots: celebrating LGBTQ+ filmmakers and the community that supports them.<\/p>\n The lineup includes documentaries and features from around the world, all highlighting the diversity and creativity of queer storytelling. <\/p>\n Opening night features a special 25th-anniversary screening of Sordid Lives, with creator Del Shores in attendance for a limited meet-and-greet and photo opportunity before the film.<\/p>\n
