And a big-name Texas banker talking about \u2026 banks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ArticleBodyText_articleBodyContent__17wqE typography_articleBody__3UcBa\" data-component=\"paragraph\">First, the newest transaction: Cadence Bank, which lists Houston as one of its two headquarters cities, was snapped up by Huntington Bancshares in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2025-10-27\/huntington-bancshares-to-acquire-cadence-bank-for-7-4-billion\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"media-ui-Link_link-tVkXhPLPofs-\" data-component=\"link\">a $7.4 billion buyout<\/a>. The takeover expands Huntington\u2019s footprint in the southern US \u2014 including Texas, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/filecache.investorroom.com\/mr5ir_cadencebank\/1214\/CADE%20-%20Form%208-K%20%28Item%207.01%20and%209.01%29%20%28November%202024%20-%20Investor%20Presentation%29.pdf?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" class=\"media-ui-Link_link-tVkXhPLPofs-\" data-component=\"link\">Cadence\u2019s top state<\/a> for depositors and construction-acquisition-and-development loans.
