The funds are already allocated within the approved fiscal year 2025-26 budget and come from the city\u2019s general fund.<\/p>\n<p>The context<\/p>\n<p>The city of Allen has made multiple investments in roads and other city infrastructure this year.<\/p>\n<p>City Council approved spending nearly $2.2 million to improve sidewalks within the Greengate neighborhood at an April meeting. In addition, council approved a $4.87 million contract with Jim Bowman Construction for its 2026 Street and Alley Rehabilitation project at a February meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The city is also planning to update its wastewater system by upgrading several lift stations.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Residents in Allen\u2019s Hillside Village neighborhood will see improvements to streets.
