LUBBOCK, Texas (May 5, 2026) \u2013 The Lubbock Christian University track and field teams will head north on I-27 this week to compete in the 2026 Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by West Texas A&M.

\nBoth the Chaps and Lady Chaps have competed well so far this season in the sprints.
\n\u00a0
\nIn the 200-meter, four LCU men and two LCU women have already recorded provisional marks this season in sprint events. On the men’s side, both Daniel Sianez<\/a> and Reuel Campbell<\/a> have recorded them in both the 200-meter and 400-meter. Campbell has the 20th fastest time in Division II in the 400 at 46.65s. Chris Moffett<\/a> also ha a 400-meter provisional time and Nathaniel Luna<\/a> has recorded one in the 200.

\nElizabeth Florez<\/a> and Joy Egwu<\/a> have been the top sprinters for the Lady Chaps. Florez’s 400-meter time of 54.58s is 31st in D-II, and Egwu has run a 54.84. LCU has also had a school record broken this season in the 400-meter hurdles, courtesy of Annabell Phillips<\/a>. Her time of 1:03.37 topped a mark that had stood since 1990.

\nThe men’s sprinters have also competed well as a team in the 4X400-meter relay. Sianez, Aden Soto<\/a>, Campbell and Moffett have made up the best foursome so far this season. They ran a time of 3:09.75 at the prestigious Texas Relays, which is the 15th-best mark in D-II this season.

\nOn the distance side, the Lady Chaps have gotten strong marks all season from Olivia Weider<\/a>. The Austria native took second in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the LSC Outdoor Championships last season and has already broken the Lubbock Christian program record this season with a time of 10:53.80 at the Bryan Clay Invitational.

\nThe Lady Chaps have also broken a number of school records in field events already this season. Esperanza Cruz<\/a> opened outdoor season with a bang, setting a new javelin record with a throw of 37.85 meters and threw over 37 meters again last week at the Corky\/Crofoot Shootout. Shelby Robinson<\/a> set a new discus record with a toss of 44.21 meters, and Drew Grellhesl<\/a> broke her own record in the pole vault with a mark of 3.38 meters.

\nFor the men’s field side, Maurice Gray<\/a> has already recorded provisional marks in both the long jump and triple jump. His long jump mark of 7.57 meters at the Jo Meaker Classic is the 12th-best mark in D-II.
