Calallen’s Coll Carroll named MaxPreps National Pitcher of the Week<\/p>\n

Calallen senior pitcher Coll Carroll was named the MaxPreps national pitcher of the week after his dominant performance against Hidalgo.<\/p>\n

Carroll struck out all 15 batters in a five-inning perfect game for the Wildcats’ 13-0 win.<\/p>\n

The 68-pitch effort saw only two opposing batters work a full count.<\/p>\n

The game was the second 15-strikeout game of the season for Carroll, who accomplished the feat in a 4-0 no-hitter against Laredo United on March 11.<\/p>\n

Carroll is 8-1 on the season.<\/p>\n

The Wildcats (30-2) moved up to No. 3 in the MaxPreps National Top 25 after the sweep of Hidalgo.<\/p>\n

Calallen is scheduled to face Needville in a best-of-three series starting Thursday at Riverside Stadium in Victoria.<\/p>\n
