Authorities are evacuating residents in parts of Calhan after a brush fire broke out Thursday afternoon, officials announced.<\/p>\n
The evacuation order<\/a> affects residents living on Big Springs Road, east of Calhan Highway, and the fire is near 31415 Big Springs Road. The El Paso County Sheriff\u2019s Office said the flames are moving to the southwest and is burning between Yoder and Calhan.<\/p>\n The Sheriff\u2019s Office said shortly after 12:30 p.m. that the fire has grown to 80 acres in size. Authorities are working on information about evacuation resources for people, pets and livestock affected.<\/p>\n Three brush trucks from the Colorado Springs Fire Department and a battalion chief have been sent to the area, the department said in a post<\/a> on X.<\/p>\n
