That\u2019s when she found out she was pregnant with their first child, but the happy beginning for the new family turned to sadness when Pe\u00f1a learned she had a miscarriage at 14 weeks.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI pretty much just went into darkness for a little while,\u201d Pe\u00f1a said. \u201cI just checked out of life. I didn\u2019t know where to go from there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Pe\u00f1a thanks the Lubbock community for getting her back on her feet during this pivotal time in her life.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI truly feel that they saved my life,\u201d Pe\u00f1a said, \u201cbecause when I was at a point where you think you\u2019re going to have your whole future, you\u2019re going to start with your family, and then you lose it. If you\u2019re not close to God or don\u2019t cling onto anything, it\u2019s easy to say you\u2019re just kind of done.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Pe\u00f1a was given new life when found out she was pregnant with twin girls in 2022. That too became a hardship when her daughter Florence was born, but her second child was stillborn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cLosing a baby and never getting to see the baby, and then losing a baby and having to hold the baby are two both very detrimental feelings, but they still feel equally lost,\u201d Pe\u00f1a said. \u201cI just missed out on their whole entire lives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">When we last spoke with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/2024\/10\/22\/lubbock-baker-looks-serve-community-after-overcoming-adversity\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.kcbd.com\/2024\/10\/22\/lubbock-baker-looks-serve-community-after-overcoming-adversity\/\">Pe\u00f1a<\/a>, she was building her business back up again. Since then, her operation is busier than ever, and she\u2019s welcomed a baby boy, Noah, to her family, who turns one later this month.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cHe walks against things and he\u2019ll let go or he\u2019ll see a toy and he\u2019s actively just playing with it,\u201d Pe\u00f1a said. \u201cHe\u2019ll realize all of a sudden he\u2019s not holding onto anything and he\u2019ll just do this little scream cause he\u2019s like \u2018I\u2019m not holding onto anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">She says being a mom of two while running a business from her own home can be quite challenging, but she couldn\u2019t be happier doing what she\u2019s doing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">With Mother\u2019s Day on the horizon, Pe\u00f1a believes things always get better and has a message for moms who might have a difficult weekend ahead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI would just say cling to the things you do have in life,\u201d Pe\u00f1a said. \u201cAlways believe there\u2019s something good for you, because God always wants good for you, and just watch your outlook. Keep a good outlook on life, because there\u2019s always something beautiful that you can find in all of the darkness.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 KCBD.
