HOUSTON, Texas — Artist Louis Gonzalez describes Da de Los Muertos as a deep and emotional tradition that celebrates the lives of loved ones who have died.<\/p>\n
He was one of eight artists selected to create an ofrenda honoring eight cyclists who died on Houston city streets over the past century.<\/p>\n
“Every color means something, the flowers, the smells, the food, all of that is to draw in the spirit of the person that we lost,” Gonzalez said.<\/p>\n
