The outdoor patio has also been refreshed.<\/p>\n<p>Nick Peterson said the remodel remains true to the restaurant\u2019s \u201ccoastal seafood dive bar\u201d roots, which started with Aw Shucks in Dallas in 1983.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou could try to go fancier or do changes, but we really like what&#8217;s worked originally for us,\u201d Eric Peterson added. \u201cWe just want to make sure that it\u2019s as comfortable and inviting as possible, just like a seafood shack on the side of the ocean.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s on the menu<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant serves raw, boiled and fried oysters, along with a variety of crab, catfish, shrimp and other seafood dishes. Non-seafood options include chicken wings and chicken sandwiches. Big Shucks also features a full bar.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI&#8217;ve always said our secret is that there is no secret,\u201d Nick Peterson said. \u201cYou take the best seafood you can find, simply prepare it, and uh serve it up fresh.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;&gt;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Big Shucks Oyster Bar in Richardson reopened following a remodel, according to owners Eric and Nick Peterson.
