During the final vetting process, board members decided the remaining candidates \u201cwould not be the right fit for Allen ISD\u201d at this time, board President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allenisd.org\/page\/contact-the-team-of-eight#:~:text=Place%206%20Dr.-,Polly%20Montgomery,-was%20elected%20to\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Polly Montgomery<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, the remaining candidates have been removed from consideration, she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSelecting the next superintendent is one of the board\u2019s most important responsibilities,\u201d Montgomery said. \u201cThe board is committed to taking the time needed to identify a leader who reflects the high expectations of the Allen ISD community and is prepared to support student success, future-ready learning and continued growth across the district.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The board is expected to name an interim superintendent at a <a href=\"https:\/\/meetings.boardbook.org\/Documents\/CustomAgendaForMeeting\/855?meeting=741230\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">special-called meeting<\/a> held at 5 p.m. May 14.<\/p>\n<p>The background<\/p>\n<p>District officials <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/allen\/education\/2026\/01\/23\/allen-isd-begins-search-process-for-next-district-superintendent\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">started a search process<\/a> for Allen ISD\u2019s next superintendent after current <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/allen\/education\/2026\/01\/19\/allen-isd-superintendent-to-retire-at-the-end-of-2025-26-school-year\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Superintendent Robin Bullock announced her retirement<\/a> at the end of the 2025-26 school year.<\/p>\n<p>Board members <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/dallas-fort-worth\/allen\/education\/2026\/02\/10\/allen-isd-trustees-select-thompson-and-horton-firm-for-superintendent-search\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">selected Texas-based law firm Thompson and Horton<\/a> in February to lead the search for Allen ISD\u2019s next superintendent.
