They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Needville Bluejays<\/a> on Friday, sneaking past 5-3. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their 20th in a row.<\/p>\n Drayton Mitchell<\/a> made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn’t tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.<\/p>\n In other pitching news, Collier Carroll<\/a> looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn’t given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.<\/p>\n Mitchell wasn’t the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Drayson Gamez<\/a>, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.<\/p>\n Calallen’s record is now 32-2. As for Needville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-11-1.<\/p>\n As of now, neither Calallen nor the Bluejays have any future games scheduled.<\/p>\n
