A man was found dead Friday afternoon inside a South Side home with an apparent gunshot wound to the back of his head, according to the San Antonio Police Department.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Officers responded to a call that someone may have been shot at 1:30 p.m. in the 8900 block of Prairie Hill Street, near Palo Alto Park. There, they found a pool of blood, according to a preliminary police report. After conducting a sweep of the area, police found a man who had been fatally shot.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A neighbor had called 911 to report that someone inside the home may have been shot, KSAT-TV reported.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The man appeared to be in his 30s, a spokesperson with the San Antonio Fire Department told the station. He was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n
An SAPD officer at the scene told KSAT that no weapon was found inside the home and that there did not appear to be other victims.\u00a0<\/p>\n
San Antonio police are investigating the case as a homicide.
