The company broke ground on the Humble expansion project in April 2025, as previously <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/lake-houston-humble-kingwood\/business\/2025\/04\/10\/brightspeed-to-add-21k-locations-to-high-speed-fiber-internet-service-in-humble\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a> by Community Impact.<\/p>\n<p>Roughly one year later, officials noted the project was about 90% complete as of April 16, with Brightspeed Fiber Internet already available for more than 42,000 Harris County homes and businesses.<\/p>\n<p>The impact<\/p>\n<p>Humble Mayor Norman Funderburk said the expansion project has been transformative for the city.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Over the past year, we&#8217;ve seen firsthand how reliable, high-speed fiber internet can transform a small town like ours,&#8221; Funderburk said in a statement. &#8220;It&#8217;s not just about faster connections, it&#8217;s about new opportunities for our local businesses, better access to education and health care and the ability to keep our community connected to the world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Darian Ortiz, the owner of <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/lake-houston-humble-kingwood\/business\/2025\/12\/30\/the-rowdy-chick-brings-community-spirit-comfort-chic-fashion-to-humble\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Rowdy Chick<\/a>\u2014a boutique in Downtown Humble\u2014said the new service has positively impacted her business operations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a Brightspeed Fiber Internet customer, the difference has been pivotal in running my business successfully,&#8221; The Rowdy Chick owner Darian Ortiz said in a statement. &#8220;Our internet is faster and more reliable than ever, which has made running my day-to-day operations so much easier. It&#8217;s been a game-changer for my business.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s next <\/p>\n<p>Brightspeed officials noted they are now moving into the final phase of the expansion project.
