A 17-year-old is in critical condition after a shooting at Cole Park.<\/p>\n
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A 17-year-old male was hospitalized in critical condition early Sunday morning after a shooting at Cole Park, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.<\/p>\n
Officers were dispatched at 4:49 a.m. to the 1700 block of Ocean Drive in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the juvenile male with gunshot wounds and immediately began administering first aid until medics arrived. The victim was then transported to a local hospital in critical condition.<\/p>\n
Around the same time, an adult male arrived separately at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Police have not confirmed whether the two incidents are connected, though investigators believe both stem from the same disturbance.<\/p>\n
Detectives with CCPD’s Criminal Investigations Division were called to the scene due to the nature of the call. Through preliminary investigation, detectives determined a disturbance occurred in which a weapon was produced. Several witnesses were detained at the scene and are currently being formally interviewed by CID.<\/p>\n
Police described the incident as isolated and said the investigation remains active and ongoing.<\/p>\n
No arrests have been announced. The identity of the 17-year-old victim has not been released.<\/p>\n
