LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Texas Tech University announced Saturday that its ON&ON Campaign has raised more than $1 billion in fundraising.<\/p>\n
The milestone reflects contributions from more than 89,000 donors, including 37,771 first-time donors, according to the university.<\/p>\n
The campaign has established 799 new scholarship and aid funds and raised nearly $112 million for scholarships and aid to support students and student-athletes. The university said 674 new endowments were created to support programs across the campaign\u2019s four priorities.<\/p>\n
Two colleges received transformational gifts and were renamed during the campaign: the Gordon W. Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources and the Tommie J. Huckabee College of Architecture.<\/p>\n
Texas Tech Athletics received $318 million in donor support during the campaign. The department concluded the Fearless Champions Campaign, which funded athletics facilities across campus.<\/p>\n
The university raised more than $185 million for community initiatives in Lubbock and West Texas.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough the ON&ON Campaign, our donors are helping us create greater opportunities for students, strengthen academic excellence and accelerate progress toward our long-term aspirations,\u201d President Lawrence Schovanec said.<\/p>\n
The campaign established 13 new endowed academic positions. The university raised $2.2 million during the first four Days of Giving events.<\/p>\n
Byron Kennedy, vice president for advancement, said the gifts are making a difference at Texas Tech.<\/p>\n
The campaign was publicly launched in October 2024 with four priorities: Transform Lives, Fuel Academic Excellence, Elevate Campus & Community and Build Champions. The campaign runs through Aug. 31, 2028.<\/p>\n
