{"id":288458,"date":"2026-05-11T20:40:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-11T20:40:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/288458\/"},"modified":"2026-05-11T20:40:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T20:40:12","slug":"flavors-of-the-coastal-bend-returns-for-a-5th-annual-event-in-port-aransas-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/288458\/","title":{"rendered":"Flavors of the Coastal Bend returns for a 5th annual event in Port Aransas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 Calling all local foodies: the 5th Annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kiiitv.com\/article\/news\/local\/flavors-of-the-coastal-bend-shows-off-local-delicacies\/503-8a6d1f3a-5b56-4ca9-ae7b-349e7ac7b1f1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Flavors of the Coastal Bend<\/a> is returning to Port Aransas for another year.<\/p>\n<p>The Coastal Bend Chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association is once again hosting the event at the Port Royal Ocean Resort &amp; Conference Center, featuring some of the best restaurants in the area.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s event will also feature a showdown between culinary programs from two local high schools. The defending champions from London ISD are returning after defeating every professional restaurant in last year&#8217;s competition. This year, they&#8217;ll face new competition from culinary students at Ray High School, who are also planning to put on their chef coats for the event.<\/p>\n<p>Organizers say the competition is part of the ProStart high school culinary program. Students will be given a specific list of ingredients and challenged to turn them into a winning dish.<\/p>\n<p>The event is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
