The Expo Tequila & Mezcal<\/a>, the event that brings together various renowned brands and artisanal producers of agave spirits, returns to The Colony this Saturday, May 23. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The event will be held at Grandscape, which is hosting it for the second consecutive year, featuring more than 20 premium tequila<\/a> and mezcal brands. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The event will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. General admission tickets cost $30, while VIP admission cost $45 \u2014 with access starting at 4\u00a0p.m. Participating brands include Patr\u00f3n and Ilegal Mezcal, as well as companies like Topo Chico and Barrilitos. \u00a0<\/p>\n

Each attendee receives a \u201cpassport\u201d that they can fill with stamps from the drinks they sample \u2014 a fun way to track their consumption while at the event.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, the organizers describe this expo as a broader experience than a simple drink tasting, as there will be activities focused on agave culture, a craft market, food vendors and a live DJ. \u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have built a community that comes back for each edition, expecting something elevated,\u201d said Alma L\u00f3pez, founder and producer of the expo in a statement. \u201cWe transform culture into a sensory experience.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n

Tequila and mezcal have gained popularity in the United States. Figures from the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) in its SipSource report indicate that while total spirits consumption declined by 3.8% during the period from March 2024 to March 2025, consumption of tequila and agave-based beverages grew by 1.3%, as published<\/a> by The Spirits Business.<\/p>\n
