{"id":288944,"date":"2026-05-12T03:07:05","date_gmt":"2026-05-12T03:07:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/288944\/"},"modified":"2026-05-12T03:07:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-12T03:07:05","slug":"el-paso-community-college-to-hold-spring-commencement-and-pinning-ceremony-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/288944\/","title":{"rendered":"El Paso Community College to hold spring commencement and pinning ceremony"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14\/CBS4) \u2014 El Paso Community College will send nearly 2,400 graduates across the stage next week during its 2026 Spring Commencement ceremonies. <\/p>\n<p>EPCC will hold three commencements at 9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 5 p.m. on Monday, May 18, at the Don Haskins Center on the University of Texas at El Paso campus. <\/p>\n<p>A total of 2,398 graduates are expected to participate, including 948 students in dual credit, Early College High School, and P-TECH programs.<\/p>\n<p>The 9 a.m. ceremony will recognize graduates earning an Associate of Applied Science, Associate of Science and Certificate of Completion. <\/p>\n<p>The 1 p.m. ceremony will include Associate of Arts graduates, excluding Multidisciplinary Studies, as well as Associate of Arts in Teaching graduates. <\/p>\n<p>The 5 p.m. ceremony will be for Associate of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies graduates.<\/p>\n<p>Claudia Aguirre, chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas Board of Directors, will serve as the commencement speaker. Aguirre is also president and CEO of BakerRipley, a nonprofit organization that focuses on issues in the Houston area through programs in education, workforce development, immigration, and citizenship services.<\/p>\n<p>EPCC President Dr. William Serrata will serve as master of ceremonies.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, EPCC\u2019s Nursing Program will recognize 81 new graduates during its annual Associate Degree of Nursing pinning ceremony on Thursday, May 14, at the EPCC Administrative Services Center Auditorium.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Administrative Services Center, Building A Auditorium, 9050 Viscount Blvd., El Paso, TX 79925. <\/p>\n<p>Among the 81 graduates being celebrated, 21 are graduating from the transitions program, which moves licensed vocational nurses to registered nurse status.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Professor Daniel Parada was selected by students as the faculty keynote speaker.
