Dock Local&#8217;s model is to operate in food halls, making it a fit for the quick-service counters at the Dallas Farmers Market. Dock Local operates already in Grapevine&#8217;s Harvest Hall, Plano&#8217;s Legacy Hall, downtown Dallas&#8217; Exchange Hall and Nashville&#8217;s Assembly Food Hall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Dock Local is expected to open at the Dallas Farmers Market in summer 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Rex&#8217;s that came before it operated at the farmers market for over 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s next for Rex&#8217;s<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">After Rex&#8217;s closure, the owners will\u00a0focus on the flagship by the same name, a sit-down restaurant and market on Northwest Highway, near NorthPark Center.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">&#8220;Over time, the Rex\u2019s brand has evolved into a more full-service, elevated model, so closing the quick serve concept felt like a natural next step,&#8221; co-owner Beau Bellomy said via email.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">His father, Rex, started the restaurant 20 years ago.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Rex's Seafood owner Beau Bellomy prepares to filet red snapper at Rex's Seafood in Dallas. (DMN file)<\/p>\n<p>What to expect at Dock Local<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Dock Local was created to bring seafood to landlocked cities.It started as a food truck run by Maryland native and chef Brett Curtis.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">When Dock Local opens at the Dallas Farmers Market, it&#8217;s expected to be the fourth in D-FW and the fifth overall.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"Dock Local's &quot;lobsta&quot; grilled cheese is decadent. Harwood St. (in the Dallas Farmers Market) in mid-2026.
