{"id":291879,"date":"2026-05-13T22:05:28","date_gmt":"2026-05-13T22:05:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/291879\/"},"modified":"2026-05-13T22:05:28","modified_gmt":"2026-05-13T22:05:28","slug":"cristo-fernandez-ted-lassos-dani-rojas-joins-el-paso-locomotive-fc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/291879\/","title":{"rendered":"Cristo Fernandez, Ted Lasso&#8217;s Dani Rojas, joins El Paso Locomotive FC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>EL PASO, Texas (AP) \u2014 Forward Cristo Fernandez, the actor who portrayed Dani Rojas on the Apple TV series <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/entertainment-sports-arts-and-entertainment-soccer-c26eb1ae6f8ef838c21baab93b10c8c1\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cTed Lasso\u201d<\/a> has signed with El Paso Locomotive FC of the USL to play soccer professionally.<\/p>\n<p>Terms of the <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/www.eplocomotivefc.com\/news\/2026\/05\/12\/el-paso-locomotive-fc-has-signed-forward-cristo-fernandez\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">deal announced Tuesday<\/a>, which still must be approved by the second-tier league and soccer federation, were not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>Fernandez earned the deal after a two-month trial with the team, appearing in a preseason match against New Mexico United.
