HOUSTON \u2013 Houston police responded to YES Prep Northline on Wednesday afternoon after receiving a call referencing a possible threat, according to the Houston Police Department.<\/p>\n
HPD confirmed that officers were called to the campus around 1:15 p.m. regarding the reported threat. <\/p>\n
Authorities have not released additional details about the nature of the incident, citing the ongoing investigation. It remains unclear whether anyone was injured or if any arrests have been made.<\/p>\n
School administrators later notified parents about the situation in an email sent Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt YES Prep, the safety of our students is our top priority,\u201d Principal Zicuria Ussery wrote in the message to families. \u201cWe are aware of a reported incident at our campus and are actively working with authorities while following all applicable laws and policies.\u201d<\/p>\n
The email stated the campus is taking the allegations seriously and remains committed to the safety and well-being of students and staff.<\/p>\n
Because the investigation is ongoing, school officials said they could not provide additional information at this time.<\/p>\n
The school also announced an increased law enforcement presence on campus and said dismissal procedures would be staggered Wednesday afternoon to help maintain supervision and campus safety.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe appreciate your cooperation and continued support as we work to ensure a safe environment for all students,\u201d the message stated.<\/p>\n
