In one shot of the video, you can see a firefighter atop of a fire ladder, spraying the area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ames told the media that firefighters were dispatched at 7:32 p.m. to the intersection of Cow Tongue and Desert Mesa Drives. When crews arrived, the house was completely engulfed in flames.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">According to the Horizon City Fire Department, firefighters responded to a Condition 2 fire and crews, including a fire marshal, were on scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">A prefabricated home is a residential structure, partially constructed off-site, then brought to the site to be fully constructed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ames said that crews got the fire under control. 15 units and 35 firefighters responded to the incident.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">\u201cFamily has been made with the contact, and that\u2019s undetermined, right now,\u201d Ames said when asked if the family had been contacted.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Horizon City Police Officer Morales said Horizon, El Paso County Fire, Montana Vista, Socorro and Clint Fire departments have responded to help with the blaze.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Ames said the home is unlivable and crews are still searching for hotspots in the area. A fire unit will be on scene until the investigation is complete.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The fire has been contained and the investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The Horizon City Police Department is asking motorists to avoid the area of Cow Tongue and Desert Mesa Drives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">No firefighters were hurt during the incident, according to the Horizon Fire Department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">It is unclear how the fire started.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Copyright 2026 Nexstar Media, Inc.
