Lucas Martinez remains jailed on a $1.5 million bond after a judge denied its reduction. <\/p>\n
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas \u2014 A judge has denied a request to lower the bond for Lucas Martinez, who is charged with murder in connection to the death of 21-year-old Benjamin Resendez.<\/p>\n
Nueces County Prosecutor Jonathan Crocker confirmed to 3NEWS that Martinez was recently arrested in connection to the disturbing killing that occurred in July 2020.<\/p>\n
According to investigators, Texas Rangers discovered Resendez\u2019s remains after authorities say he was shot in the head and his body was later burned inside a large metal container.<\/p>\n
Martinez was booked into the Nueces County Jail last month on the murder charge. His attorney asked the court to reduce his $1.5 million bond to a more affordable amount.<\/p>\n
That request was denied by Susan Barclay.<\/p>\n
