According to the arrest report, Arroyo drove from Las Cruces to El Paso– with another brother, both armed– to shoot Jose Luis Luevano multiple times in the street outside EP Underground, a music and event venue located at 3016 Gateway Blvd. E., known for hosting underground, metal, goth and alternative bands.<\/p>\n

This was after Arroyo’s brother had reportedly called him, saying he had been assaulted.<\/p>\n
In the report, Arroyo allegedly admitted to shooting Luevano, but said he acted in self-defense, telling investigators that Luevano had pulled out a gun and had pistol-whipped them. <\/p>\n
However, investigators also spoke with other witnesses who said Luevano didn’t have a gun and was not armed. <\/p>\n

In the report, witnesses told investigators that it all started after a fight broke out when people were “moshing” during the show. <\/p>\n
For those who don’t know, investigators describe moshing as “a style of dance performed at rock, metal and punk concerts where participants, often called ‘moshers,’ violently and energetically push, slam, and jump into one another.”<\/p>\n
Witnesses said that security personnel broke up the fight, but then, outside of the venue, when Luevano and the witnesses were leaving, Arroyo and his brothers approached them, holding a gun and asking who had hit his brother, before they heard five to seven gunshots. <\/p>\n
They said they then took Luevano to the hospital after finding he had been shot several times. <\/p>\n
In the report, investigators said they also spoke with the Arroyo brothers.<\/p>\n
The brother at the event told investigators he had been assaulted by Luevano, while the other brother described how he was in Las Cruces when Arroyo told him that they had to go to El Paso after their other brother called them to tell them he was in some type of trouble.<\/p>\n
This second brother, who rode with Arroyo from Las Cruces, was reportedly caught in a lie by investigators after he allegedly said he didn’t know anything about a knife investigators found at the scene, only to later admit it was his. <\/p>\n
The report concludes with investigators determining that they believe Arroyo:<\/p>\n
