Texas Children\u2019s Hospital also ordered to pay $10 million following state’s investigation into those “victimized by twisted, morally bankrupt transgender ideology”<\/p>\n

\n\tA Houston, Texas<\/a> hospital has been ordered to open the nation\u2019s first \u201cdetransition clinic\u201d as part of a settlement with the state over giving children transgender<\/a> treatment.<\/p>\n

\n\tTexas Children\u2019s Hospital must also pay the state $10 million and five physicians had their medical licenses revoked as part of the settlement, the result of the state Attorney General Office\u2019s investigation into the facility. the Texas Tribune reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cToday is a monumental day in the fight to stop the radical transgender movement,\u201d Texas attorney general Ken Paxton said in a statement Friday. \u201cI applaud Texas Children\u2019s Hospital for changing course and committing to being a part of the solution by agreeing to form a first-of-its kind Detransition Clinic that will help provide free care to those who have been victimized by twisted, morally bankrupt transgender ideology.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tUnder the settlement, the \u201cdetransition clinic\u201d would offer free medical care to patients \u201cwho were subjected to \u2018gender-transition\u2019 procedures\u201d for the next five years; in 2023, Texas Governor Greg Abbott banned<\/a> transgender children from receiving hormone therapies.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe hospital called the settlement a \u201cdifficult decision\u201d in a statement, adding, \u201cTo be clear \u2014 we are settling to protect our resources from endless and costly litigation \u2026 We stand proud knowing we will always put our purpose over politics and that we have and will continue to follow the law.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDallas state representative and Texas LGBTQ chair Jessica Gonzalez called the settlement \u201cshameful\u201d and furthered \u201can agenda to eradicate transgender people from the eyes of society.\u201d<\/p>\n
