Davidson was <a href=\"https:\/\/communityimpact.com\/houston\/lake-houston-humble-kingwood\/government\/2026\/02\/27\/humble-city-council-cancels-may-2-election-due-to-candidates-running-unopposed\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">reelected<\/a> in 2022, 2024 and 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The appointment will mark Davidson\u2019s third stint as mayor pro tem after he was appointed to the position in 2024 and 2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can\u2019t be everywhere at every event, and Bruce has been so great about willingly being available, representing the city and being there in my place,\u201d Funderburk said during the meeting. \u201cHe\u2019s been a really big help to me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s next<\/p>\n<p>Humble council members appoint a mayor pro tem each year to preside over meetings in the mayor&#8217;s absence.
