{"id":295765,"date":"2026-05-16T08:01:34","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T08:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/295765\/"},"modified":"2026-05-16T08:01:34","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T08:01:34","slug":"hutto-fire-rescue-approves-new-sales-tax-sharing-agreement-with-city-of-hutto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/295765\/","title":{"rendered":"Hutto Fire Rescue approves new sales tax sharing agreement with city of Hutto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe board of commissioners for Williamson County Emergency Services District No. 3, also known as <a href=\"http:\/\/communityimpact.com\/austin\/pflugerville-hutto\/public-safety\/2021\/02\/26\/hutto-fire-rescue-recognized-for-excellence-in-fire-prevention\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hutto Fire Rescue<\/a>, approved a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/HuttoFireRescue\/photos\/for-immediate-release-hutto-fire-rescuewcesd-3-approves-new-sales-tax-sharing-ag\/1403891738444052\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">proposed agreement<\/a> to share sales tax revenue with the city of Hutto.<\/p>\n<p>The overview<\/p>\n<p>WCESD 3 will share a portion of local sales tax revenue generated from certain properties annexed into the city of Hutto to help support infrastructure needs. The agreement establishes a 60\/40 allocation of certain local sales tax revenues, with 60% going to the city of Hutto and 40% to WCESD 3.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement replaces and clarifies a prior agreement expiring in 2027, and requires the city\u2019s share to be used solely for emergency response infrastructure improvements, including fire protection water systems and roadways designed for fire apparatus.<\/p>\n<p>WCESD No. 3, which serves Hutto Fire Rescue, collects a 2% sales and use tax in areas outside city limits to fund fire stations, apparatus and staffing, as approved by voters in 2016.
