{"id":295821,"date":"2026-05-16T09:17:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-16T09:17:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/295821\/"},"modified":"2026-05-16T09:17:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-16T09:17:14","slug":"texas-school-district-closes-campuses-after-students-report-illness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/295821\/","title":{"rendered":"Texas school district closes campuses after students report illness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ganado ISD announced Thursday evening that all district campuses would close Friday due to a &#8220;significant number of absences due to illness,&#8221; particularly at Ganado Elementary.<\/p>\n<p>According to the district, more than 90 elementary students had either missed school or been sent home sick since Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Parents, we sincerely apologize for the short notice, but please understand that we highly value the welfare of all students,&#8221; the district wrote in a statement shared on social media.<\/p>\n<p>While the district did not specify the illness,<a href=\"https:\/\/abc13.com\/post\/ganado-isd-closed-friday-significant-number-absences-due-illness-district-says\/19103032\/\" data-link=\"native\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\"> ABC13 reported that a stomach bug<\/a> had spread through the elementary school.
