Yes it’s true. El Paso<\/a> DID indeed have a Waffle House. But that was a long time ago. A VERY long time ago. We have many historic relics from the past regarding restaurants. For example we still have the original Arby’s cowboy hats signs still standing in El Paso<\/a>. So the big question is…where was the old Waffle House & what is it NOW?<\/p>\n

I got the idea to go down the “EP Waffle House rabbit hole” after Mike our engineer brought up the fact that we DID have one back in the day. I asked where & he said it was around Airway…so of course I HAD to do some digging.<\/p>\n

Where was the old Waffle House located in El Paso?<\/p>\n

There’s been some debate online on exactly WHERE it used to be. Unless you grew up in El Paso in the 80’s & 90’s, you’d have NO IDEA where it was.<\/p>\n

One Reddit user posted that they (MIGHT HAVE) remembered seeing a Waffle House on the Northeast on Dyer St<\/a>. They said the current diner is the New Clock Restuarant however it’s been open since the 1960s so…I highly doubt that’s where it was<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thanks to Reddit, many more users commented that they DO remember seeing the old Waffle House across from Bassett, off of I-10. Not just on one different thread<\/a>, but at least TWO threads<\/a> in the El Paso subReddit. Another thanks to the user “No-Past2605”, they commented that the building is NOW a Tacos Chinampa.<\/p>\n

So if we are correct with putting these pieces of information together, that would mean that the Tacos Chinampa<\/a> at\u00a06110 Gateway Blvd E, El Paso, TX 79905, is where we USED to have a Waffle House in town. (You can still sorta see the remnants in 2026).<\/p>\n

Are there any photos of the old Waffle House in El Paso?<\/p>\n

Well…no. At least not ONLINE. When trying to find photos of what it looked like back when it was open, there’s nothing I could easily find online.<\/p>\n
