Calallen<\/a> had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn’t miss a beat now that it’s playoff time. Everything went their way against the Fredericksburg Billies<\/a> on Thursday as they made off with an 11-0 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won 25 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday’s blowout was nothing new.<\/p>\n Collier Carroll<\/a> tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn’t given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.<\/p>\n At the plate, Jagger Batek<\/a> was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Wyatt Duke<\/a> was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.<\/p>\n Calallen always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fredericksburg only posted an OBP of .176.<\/p>\n Calallen has been performing incredibly well recently as they’ve won 24 of their last 25 games. That’s provided a nice bump to their 33-2 record this season. As for Fredericksburg, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-14.<\/p>\n The teams didn’t have to wait long for a rematch: Calallen beat the Billies by a score of 11-1 on Friday.<\/p>\n
