Thanks to another late goal from Remi Cabral, FC Tulsa earned a 1-0 road win at Corpus Christi FC on Saturday night in the group stage of the USL Cup. Tulsa is now 1-1-0 with 4 points in group play, and is in 2nd place in Group C.<\/p>\n
\n INSIDE THE MATCH<\/p>\n
The Scissortails had six shots on goal in the first half, but the club could not find the back of the net, and the match was scoreless at the break.<\/p>\n
Corpus Christi has several scoring opportunities in the opening minutes of the second half, but goalkeeper Alex Tambakis kept the ball out of the net. He finished with four saves on the night.<\/p>\n
In the 80th minute, Tulsa finally found a breakthrough as midfielder Jamie Webber slid a ball perfectly into the path of forward Remi Cabral who came on as a substitute 20 minutes prior. The Frenchman slotted it home as he has done all season to capture the lead and the full three points for Tulsa. <\/p>\n
Cabral has now scored four goals in his last four matches across all competitions with this being his third off the bench on the season.<\/p>\n
The match was also chippy, as both teams combined for 34 fouls and 12 yellow cards issued.<\/p>\n
This is Tulsa\u2019s third win in Texas this season in three tries with each victory coming in a different competition. The Scissortails finished their three-match road trip with three victories as they prepare to resume league play next week.<\/p>\n
