{"id":297556,"date":"2026-05-18T00:08:05","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T00:08:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/297556\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T00:08:05","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T00:08:05","slug":"teen-driver-arrested-after-chase-in-stolen-car-crash-in-lubbock","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-tx\/297556\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen driver arrested after chase in stolen car, crash in Lubbock"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>May 17, 2026, 4:35 p.m. CT<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Police arrested a teenager after a chase in a stolen vehicle ended in a crash Sunday afternoon in central Lubbock.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">At 2:13 p.m. Sunday, a Lubbock police officer observed a stolen vehicle being driven in the area of 34th Street and University Avenue, according to a statement from LPD.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The officer attempted to perform a traffic stop; however police say the driver fled.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">The vehicle pursuit ended at 19th\u00a0Street and Avenue A, where the fleeing driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a utility pole.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">A 15-year-old juvenile male was arrested at the scene.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">He suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
